In this activity, you’ll use AI to transform a family photo into a beautiful black-and-white line drawing — the perfect custom coloring sheet! It’s a fun way to bring memories to life, spark creativity, and make tech feel magical.
You can even print them out and give them as gifts to grandparents, babysitters, or just hang them on the fridge.

A photo of your family (or a special moment)
Access to ChatGPT or any AI tool that can turn images into drawings
The prompt below
A printer (optional, but highly recommended!)
Let’s Begin!
Step 1. Pick a Photo
Choose a favorite family photo where the people or subjects are clearly visible.
Outdoor photos with good lighting work great!
Step 2. Prompt!
Paste the following into your AI tool (like ChatGPT), and upload your photo:
Convert this photo into a black-and-white line drawing suitable as a children’s coloring sheet.
Style: clean, clear outlines with enough detail to be engaging but not overwhelming. Emphasize major shapes and features while simplifying intricate textures.
Format:
Orientation should match the photo (portrait or landscape).
Resize or frame the composition to fit a printable 8.5 x 11 inch (US Letter) page with standard print margins.
Ensure image is centered and scaled properly for printing.
Mood: fun, playful, family-friendly.
Tip: If you don’t like how the coloring sheet turns out, try running the prompt again for a different result.
Step 3. Print and Color!
